Terms of use

Last updated 23 June 2026

These are the rules for using fixy.ng. They’re written to be read: plain language, not fine print. By using fixy, you agree to them.

What fixy is

fixy.ng is a community marketplace built on three pillars: Give (free and low-price items), Services (local gigs and skills), and Businesses (verified local providers). We connect neighbours; we are not the seller, the buyer, or a party to any deal you make.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to use fixy.
  • Keep your sign-in email secure: anyone with access to it can act as you.
  • Give accurate information in your profile and listings. Impersonating someone else isn’t allowed.
  • You’re responsible for what you post and for the deals you make.

Posting rules

To keep fixy safe and useful, don’t post:

  • Anything illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or unsafe.
  • Weapons, drugs, live animals, or other prohibited items.
  • Misleading listings, fake businesses, or scams of any kind.
  • Content that harasses, defames, or discriminates against others.
  • Spam, or the same listing posted repeatedly across zones.

We use a content filter and zone moderation, and we may edit, hide, or remove any listing (and suspend any account) that breaks these rules.

The community price cap

fixy is for everyday community trade, not high-value commerce. Listings are capped at ₦50,000 by default. Some zones or categories may set a lower cap. A listing priced above the cap that applies to it can’t be published. This keeps the marketplace low-stakes and harder to abuse.

Deals between members

When you contact a seller, you leave fixy and continue on WhatsApp, a call, or in person. fixy does not process payments, hold money, ship items, or guarantee any deal. We provide trust signals (reputation, neighbour vouches, business verification, and zone moderation), but the decision to trade, and the deal itself, are yours.

Meet in public, inspect before you pay, and prefer pay on delivery. Our Community safety page has the full checklist.

Business verification

A “verified business” badge means a zone admin reviewed the documents that business submitted at the time of review. It is a helpful signal, not a guarantee. Verification can be reviewed or removed, and you should still use your own judgement on every deal.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give fixy permission to display and distribute that content on the platform so the marketplace can function (for example, showing your listing and its photos in search). You confirm you have the right to post what you upload.

Our role and its limits

fixy is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it safe and available, but we can’t guarantee that every member is trustworthy or that the service will be uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, fixy isn’t liable for deals between members, for items or services exchanged, or for losses arising from your use of the platform.

Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove accounts and listings that break these terms or put the community at risk. You can stop using fixy and ask us to delete your account at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as fixy grows. We’ll change the “last updated” date above, and for material changes we’ll give clear notice. Continuing to use fixy after a change means you accept the updated terms.
